The hardest jobs to get done are the small ones. A torn porch screen, a light fixture nobody wants to climb up to, steps that have gotten dangerous. They are too small for most contractors to drive out for, so they sit on the list for two years. Those are the calls we take.
Home repair is the catch-all, and that is on purpose. If it is broken, worn out, or never got finished, it usually lands here.
The most economical way to use us is to stop calling about one thing. Walk the house, write down everything, and send the whole list at once. A single visit that knocks out nine items costs far less than nine visits, and most owners are surprised how much of the list clears in a day.
This works especially well for rental cabins between guests, when there is a real window to get in and the turnover cleaner has already flagged what is wrong.
We replaced the screening on an upper cabin porch in Blue Ridge with new fiberglass screen and spline, which you can see in our porch screen replacement write-up. We also built a set of outdoor steps into a Cherry Log hillside with timber framing and gravel treads, because the old path had gotten to where you would not want a guest on it.
